Teixeira Duarte

The Teixeira Duarte team is led by Engineer Rita Moura, with the most direct support from Engineer Henrique Nicolau and Engineer Bernardo Santos. The company involved other human resources in the project, both technical and administrative personnel, who helped ensure the success of the activities carried out.

Instituto Superior Técnico

The team from Instituto Superior Técnico is led by Professor João Gomes Ferreira, with the most direct support from Professor Luís Guerreiro, and the more operational support from the Ph.D. student Engineer Sajjad Hosseini. Additionally, other professors from IST and other technical and administrative staff were involved, essential for the successful development of the project. Specifically mentioned are Professors Carlos Sousa Oliveira, Fernando Branco, and João Azevedo.

The role of the partners that supported this project was also crucial for the achieved results. The Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil (National Laboratory of Civil Engineering) played a significant part in the experimental program, providing its facilities and the excellence of its know-how to the project. The members of UNIDCOM/IADE were instrumental in designing the interior solutions of the shelter, particularly the safety benches and post-collapse survival systems. Additionally, the services of INEGI were enlisted for part of the instrumentation of the seismic table tests.

Desenvolvimento dos trabalhos

The development of the work, which took place largely during the Covid-19 pandemic, was continuously monitored by the team. Meetings were held both in person whenever it was possible (or when it became possible again) and through video conferences whenever necessary.
